The Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI) is an independent, nonprofit health care improvement organization comprised of 50+ medical groups representing 9,000 physicians, and sponsored by five Minnesota and Wisconsin nonprofit health plans.
ICSI unites clinicians, health plans, employers, patients and others to bring innovation and urgency to improve health, optimize the patient experience and improve the affordability of care. We accomplish this through four main roles:
- Providing evidence-based medicine expertise
- Supporting process and quality improvement within health care groups
- Serving as an honest broker to tackle tough health care issues
- Helping to lead the transformation of health care by targeting the Triple Aim.
Our success stems from our stakeholders’ belief that more can be done faster to improve the health care system and community health if we collaborate together rather than take on tough issues separately. This spirit of collaboration and our broad member and sponsor base enable ICSI to accelerate improvements in health care across our region.
From developing evidence-based guidelines that enable clinicians to practice the best medicine, to uniting diverse stakeholders to improve how care is delivered and paid for, to reaching out to communities and consumers to engage them in their care and wellness, ICSI is at the forefront of co-creating a healthier tomorrow.
